As Assessment and Remediation Adviser, I am a senior, expert operational and strategic leader with responsibility for the effective design, planning and delivery of individual A&R services according to international best practice. I ensure that suitable, robust, valid and reliable assessment methods are used in all services through evidence-informed educational research and development, and direct advice to the A&R Team and assessors on the optimum approach and application of theory to ensure a robust and high quality service. I am responsible for the detailed and timely review of all A&R reports to ensure quality and robustness in the content and conclusions. My role involves the design and provision of training to A&I staff and the panel of assessors and liaise with stakeholder organisations around A&I issues. Additionally, I support the maintenance and future development of the methodology for A&I services and develop and maintain processes to quality assure the assessment system. Finally, I lead on design and implementation of assessment instruments - most recently an adapted version of Situational Judgement Tests, used to complement the existing psychometrics in our Behavioural Assessments.
