Worked in a 184-room Hotel to learn the role of a Guest Service Agent. Assisted in making reservation with an average of 25 reservations a day. Learned the check in and check out processes. Learned how to use the Agilisys software to make or change reservations. I learned how to make guest profiles as well as make changed to folios. I was able to take lead in a number of service recovery opportunities that helped with my experience as an Intern for the Summer. I was able to sit with the management team on a number of occasions to shadow them and take notes.

While working in the Por-shop I was expected to answer phones. Make tee times and be able to answer questions about the golf course. I would check in golfers for their tee time and set the pace of play for the day. While not assisting guests I would keep the pro-shop stocked and keep it clean and presentable. While working at the golf course I was able to learn payroll as well as basic inventory duties.

In this position I work with guests during events of 50-400 people to give them the best overall experience. I have experience working a number of different events, weddings, holiday parties, proms, celebrations of life and many other. Before event I help set up the room to match the requests on the Banquet Event Order (BEO). During the event I serve food and beverages to the guests while maintaining a clean and safe work space. After the event is over I help with tear down where we clean the entire building including putting away all the tables at the end of the night. I have learned many skills through this position such as how to handle a difficult guest, how to work with a team, and how to take lead with a group of co-workers. This position is what inspired me to pursue Hospitality as a career.
