I am as passionate about people as I am about process. I have seen that the most effective way to manage people is from a place of care and respect. In college my dream was to be able to walk alongside others in dignity, regardless of their life circumstances. This led me to see the world from as many perspectives as I could.I travelled globally as a learner to understand the realities people live in and to understand best practices of engagement. Through interaction I developed a diverse world view. I hit my stride in my career was when I was able to merge my passion into process. I was able to implement and train others in best practice and culturally sensitive intercultural engagement. Through interacting with the next generation of college students I was able to understand their needs and desire to walk out sustainable purpose in their lives. With that knowledge I was able to create a successful program for 18-23 year olds to engage with other cultures that enabled them to gain relevant training, career and volunteer experience in the humanitarian field. In the midst of the pandemic I used the knowledge I had gained over the years to implement this program, which increased our profits 97% over what we had expected in the current fiscal year. Through intentional crisis management, in an industry based on people being able to travel overseas, we were able to retain participants even when the world shut down due to COIVD 19. I helped build a change process that included intensive risk management, digital collaboration between staff and participants and employee wellness. Through our decisive actions we were able to retain staff and relaunch participants overseas quicker than 90% of missions organizations. In the midst of ever changing environments over the last decade I have gained a global perspective that continues to bleed into everything I do. I thrive in finding ways to incorporate sustainable relationships that move us towards a more diverse inclusive world in work and life.
