As a medical scribe trainer at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, my responsibilities included basic scribe duties such as taking detailed notes on patient contact, documenting patient care for the assigned physician, and updating records; as well as training new scribes for the position. As an ambassador, I was also responsible for deciding if each trainee was prepared to work on their own.

I began working as a medical scribe at Lafayette General Medical Center through Proscribe. My responsibilities included meeting with patients with my assigned doctor, keeping accurate records of information exchanged between physician and patient, and performing tasks at my supervisor or assigned doctor’s request.
