As a hostess I was tasked with keeping all entrances, waiting areas, bathrooms, and event spaces clean and organized. Being a member of the front of house staff requires one to pleasantly welcome each guest, make seating arrangements, take orders, answer all phone calls, and provide an answer for any questions.

Hostessing is mainly about keeping a proper seating rotation, understanding your waiters needs/capabilities/limits, maintaining a clean environment, and above all keeping the customers satisfied. Waitressing is about communicating effectively to give the customer the best possible experience as well as being efficient and timely with their orders.
