As the Elementary Instructional Coach I provide support to all ELAR teachers, Kindergarten to Fifth Grade. My main responsibilities are to observe and provide feedback during coaching cycles, assist teachers in data analyzation during planning to drive instruction for whole group and small group instruction, assist with the role out of HMH curriculum and provide training on using the new material. This work is very rewarding as I have been able to build amazing relationships with staff on campus and work closely with teachers of different learning and teaching styles.

In this role I am responsible for being the campus lead as the data and assessment specialist. In this role I facilitate professional development for teachers on how to access and analyze classroom data to differentiate instruction. Weekly, I meet with two first year teachers to support in multiple areas of their classroom. This role includes reviewing lesson plans to ensure alignment to TEKS and exit tickets and assistance in creating small groups for differentiated instruction. Analyzing REN 360, Benchmark Running Record and Snapshot assessments to track individual and classroom growth is also part of this role.

In this position I spearhead a project based learning design for seventh and eighth grade students. On top of the responsibilities of teaching, I also served as a consultant to other math teachers leaning into the project based learning space. Students created a Shark Tank style project, responsible for applying taught math concepts and sales techniques to a product of their creation. Students were responsible for their budget and the creation of a prototype. Students then presented to a panel, administrators, and received feedback on product design and use of their math concepts such as valuation.

This is wonderful non-profit summer enrichment education program for motivated middle schoolers. In this position I served on a team, teaching seventh and eighth grade students. I was responsible for the creation of the math curriculum and implementing teaching strategies to a variety of learners. In this 6 week summer program I scaffolded instructions for students to create a floor plan project by the end of the program. Students applied math concepts such as area and perimeter and budgeting to create their floor plan project. I created student friendly catalogs and activities to support their mastery of this project.
