My project focuses on addressing the challenge of limited health literacy and numeracy among patients, especially older adults with multiple chronic conditions, when it comes to understanding their electronic health records (EHR), specifically laboratory test results. I propose the development of a mobile app designed to help older adults comprehend their lab test results more effectively. By creating a user-friendly interface and incorporating features such as simplified explanations and visual aids, the app aims to empower older adults to better understand and manage their health information. Through this project, I seek to enhance patient-centered care and decision-making by improving access to and comprehension of vital health data among the target population.
