I am in my final year pursuing a BS in Biology at the University of Utah. During my undergraduate years, I've spent two and a half years as a technician for the R&D immunology department at ARUP Laboratories. I have also worked for over a year in the Anderegg/Karasov labs at the University of Utah, where I received training in plant hydraulics, molecular biology, and forest ecology. In the next semester, I will complete an undergraduate thesis on the overlapping impacts of drought stress and pathogen invasion on quaking aspen in the Intermountain West. In October, 2022, I presented my research as a poster at the Science Retreat for the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Utah. I am skilled in using R, excel, and other software to organize and interpret data. I also consider myself skilled at writing, statistics, and a wide variety of technical skills stemming from my lab experiences.In addition to research experience, I've had the opportunity to study abroad in an ecology-related program in coastal Patagonia. This program gave me insight on how environmental policy and sustainability practices are evolving in other countries (particularly in South America). The program also covered the intersections between environmental exploitation and global economic development.I have always spent a lot of time outdoors, and I've always been interested in learning as much as possible about plants, birds, insects, and marine life.Currently, I work as a Process Guide in multiple departments at an Amazon Warehouse, and I will be applying to graduate programs in the fall of 2024.
