In Spring 2024, I was a UTA for two classes: DSCI 335 - Inferential Reasoning in Data Analysis, and STAT 495 - Independent Study.For the first, I helped grade discussions and simulation assignments for 2-3 hours per week.The second class was a way to get credit for closely following CSU's statistics book club material. As a TA for the class, I sent out reminder emails about meetings every other week, attended every meeting to take notes on what was discussed, posted discussion questions after the meetings, and graded students' reading notes and discussion responses.

I tutored students in introductory statistics courses at the Statistics Success Center at CSU. The courses we covered were General Statistics, Statistics with Business Applications, Introduction to Applied Statistical Methods, Introduction to Biostatistics, and Intro to Theory and Practice of Statistics. We used Excel, Jamovi, or R depending on the course.

At the Precalculus Center, I began working shifts tutoring, checking students in and out of tests, proctoring, or working on various projects as needed. For my last year, I was also trained to work in the office, where I answered phone calls, organized the make-up exams, issued them to students, and returned them to instructors.

I worked with Jewel Jemila, another undergraduate student, on a historical study on the origin of the "n = 30" rule for sample size in statistics. She primarily searched through online references while I looked at the statistics textbooks and papers we had on campus at CSU. In addition to reading through references, we also entered the data we gathered in R to visualize our findings, as well as writing and presenting to our mentors and peers at the end of our research period. Finally, in spring of 2023, we created a poster to convey our research and presented it at CURC, CSU's undergraduate research event.
