I was the Assistant Coach for Varsity field hockey at William Penn High School. College classes and exams permitting, I attended almost all practices and games. I have played field hockey for fourteen years and so I know a lot about the sport's technicalities as well as how to be a team player and leader. My goal and success was to help each of them get better at field hockey, have fun, form a team environment, and gain confidence.

This past summer I worked a lot of hours at Sazio, a Big Fish Restaurant located in Rehoboth Beach. I was mostly a server but would host as well. Being a server, I learned how to be comfortable talking with any and all kinds of people and creating a welcoming atmosphere. When I wasn't busy, I learned to manage my time to prepare for a rush or help out other servers. When I was busy, I had learned to resolve problems quickly, predict timing on both food and when to check in with guests.

I was a takeout worker and hostess at Matt's Fish camp last summer, which is a restaurant owned by So Del Concepts. At Matt's, I took orders, logged them into the system and packaged them as well as greeting and accommodating guests as a hostess. Being a takeout worker, there were three other people who were on takeout as well and so we had to cooperate and communicate to ensure the order is ready on time and to the customer's liking.

During my freshman winter, I worked as a daycare assistant at Beach Babies Child Care in Townsend, DE. My daily responsibilities included assisting the teacher in caring for children of all ages, completing tasks for teachers (making their day as easy as possible), and cleaning maintenance at the end of the day. I've always been a patient person but this job taught me to stay calm, be patient, and respectfully treat and help dissatisfied customers. In this case, it ranged from a screaming infant to an upset parent, so I know how to deal with all kinds of people.
