I grew up accompanying my father to work, who was a Transportation Engineer at Poblocki Paving Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I kept him company while he was plowing, admired all the detailed blueprints in his office, and was always amazed by the varying machines at the job sites. I learned the importance of hard work, determination, and teamwork from him. I grew to love engineering and the atmosphere that surrounds it at a young age.Ever since I was 14, I have had a job, sometimes multiple at a time. I have never stopped working hard, lost motivation, or given up on my dreams. The past five years, I have attended school as a full-time student working towards graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA). The past two years I have also worked at Shannon & Wilson, a geotechnical and environmental engineering firm, as a Lab Technician. Apart from testing soil, I have begun to acquire experience in soil sampling and in the development of proposals and reports. I am eager to continue my path in civil engineering and keep working towards my goals.
