- Creating and coordination of marketing plans, marketing strategy and marketing/sales tools for Fenerbahçe TV and Radyo Fenerbahçe.- Coordination and co-managing the sales team on the field.
As the head of client relations my responsibilities were shaping up and supervising all the work passing through the agency, sustaining the quality of the creative works as well as establishing new contacts and expanding the services we provide to our clients. To consider my managerial responsibilities I was also leading the project for renovation of the agency structure including subsidiaries such as media buying company, direct marketing company, Before I left the company for my obligatory military duty I fulfilled the renovation program and specified the necessary steps for restructuring the agency with Vale International. Started a PR offensive to announce the changes in the agency and to regain confidence of the clients. Also I have developed new presentation techniques both for the agency introduction as well as the presentations made for clients. At this time our agency had some additional major clients and successfully managed those brands such as;Doğuş Otomotiv (a leading automotive distributor for Audi, Volkswagen and Seat), Scania & Krone, İzocam (A leading Turkish isolation products manufacturer, subsidiary of Koç Holding and Weber Markem)
I was basically responsible for the interactions between the agency and the client. On the client side my main responsibilities were making and helping the client to produce valid and correct briefs, informing them about the changes in the advertising sector as well as reporting their rivals’ actions and proactively offering solutions to their communication needs with my creative team. On the agency side I was responsible for checking the work of the creative groups upon their relevance to the briefs, budgeting of the requested creative works, following the approval process, double checking the production qualities. The average of the marketing/advertising/media budget I was responsible for was at an average of 6 million USD per year. Between those years my team was also awarded twice as the best commercial of the year in that segment at the Kristal Elma (an annual competition run by the Foundation of Advertisers) for Tansaş and once for Hyundai brands. To name some of the clients I have worked with at those times;Hyundai, Tansaş (a leading supermarket chain), Swatch, cK Watches, FCUK, Eren Holding, Kaya Ramada Hotels, Replay, Guess, Akkök Group - (petrochemical textile products, synthetic fabrics), ZemZem Kola (an alternative soda product), Soyak Group (construction company), Pınar (diary products, delicatessen products and cookies), ArtCraft,
I was responsible for marketing activities of the two sections of the Mediaforce Group. The first section of the group was publishing of sectoral magazines. My duties were including estimating rate cards for advertisements for broadcasting periods, implementing new methods for broadening the distribution of the magazines therefore increasing advertisement value, developing methods for increasing the reader experience and methods of interaction. In my work time I re-organized the branch, closing down two inefficient, thus not profiting magazines but increasing the sales and subscription of the remaining three by establishing a customer and data management center as well as reevaluating the advertisement value of those magazines thus creating more revenues from advertisement sales. The second section of the group was devoted to trade fairs in compliance with the magazine group. In a year we have successfully created two new international trade fairs for private label manufacturers and subcontractors for the first time in Turkey. I was also responsible for international relations of those fairs in order to bring international buyers to the trade exhibitions. Both exhibitions The Private Label 2000 and The Subcon İstanbul 2000 were huge success as they gathered international buyers from Americas, Far east, India and Middle East. Later terms the Subcon İstanbul was also supported by UNIDO upon its success.
I was basically responsible for developing, executing and reporting results of direct-marketing projects as well as maintaining the bridge between the agency and the client. Other than that I was key account manager of Grey Network for Nokia in Turkey and hinterland. Two projects I have developed at those years were brand new for Turkey and opened new paths for direct-marketing companies. The first one was direct advertisement/on-the-point sale for P&G, for their diapers and hygienic pads products. Four million houses were visited (nearly 20% of the total households in Turkey) and the on-the-point sale option nearly financed 65% of all the expenses for the client. After the campaign the sales of those products were increased by 5% but most important of all, the overall brand awareness were risen by 35% at the rural areas. The second project was for Nokia. The mobile teams reached more than 2 million consumers in three months and had over 140.000 new members to Club Nokia which was active for 2 years till that day with only 20.000 members. To name some of the clients I have worked with at those times;P&G (Pringles, Prima Diapers, Orkid Hygienic Pads, Pantene), Mars Effemex (Mars, Snickers, M&Ms, Skittles, Uncle Ben’s, Bounty), Johnson & Johnson (Carefree and OB), Nokia, Olio Verde (a selection olive oils producer), Ballantines, Kodak, Telsim (a mobile phone operator, later bought by Vodafone), Carlsberg, Tuborg, British Petroleum, Duracell, Gillette, Danone
