I'm a dedicated second-year student mental health nurse studying at Middlesex University under the Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey Mental Health Trust. My journey has been extended due to my personal battle with Crohn's disease, but this challenge has only fueled my determination to excel in my field. My career interest lies in the treatment of drug addiction. For years, I have worked for Haringey Council as a Support and Wellbeing Worker, assisting vulnerable adults over 65. My experience extends to my role as a Call Handler/Coach, auditor for the London Ambulance Service, and Forensic Support Worker for the Priory Group. My background has always revolved around people-focused industries, reflecting my genuine interest in helping others. My skill set encompasses various NHS computer systems, including RIO and Pathways, alongside proficiency in management, customer service, Microsoft Office, communication, and time management.Beyond my professional life, I have a deep-rooted passion for music, a love that led me to pursue a Music and Sonic Media degree at London South Bank University. Call Handler/Coach & Auditor

London, United Kingdom

At my current post I take calls from patients and remote observers to complete an assessment oftheir symptoms using the NHS Pathways software, where I am then required report anyimmediate risks to patient’s life to clinical navigator and appropriate emergency service. If norisks are found I can then direct the caller or patient to the most appropriate service based onthe clinical time frame produced at the end of the assessment. For symptoms which do notrequire a face to face visit to a service I am able to give symptom management advice so that theproblem can be managed at home, this helps to take the stain off of NHS services and give thepatient a sense of independence. In some scenarios I am required to dispatch emergencyambulances, this is normally where there is an immediate threat to the person’s life or if theirsymptoms show signs of becoming severe and difficult to control. Often I work alongside NELFMental Health Crisis services to ensure patients facing severe mental health difficulties are giventhe required immediate support, where these services are not available I seek the help andadvice of our in house clinical team. Contacting local pharmacy services to arrange emergencyprescriptions for patients needing emergency medication is also a major part of my role, as wellas arranging call backs and appointments for elderly patients, arranging district nurse visits andorganizing translation services to aid patients whom are facing a language barrier. As a Coach &Auditor I also audit our recorded calls to ensure that they are safe and compliant with policy, andtrain new staff to use the NHS pathway computer system, giving constructive feedback to thetrainees as well as being their first point of contact whilst they are completing their induction tothe London Ambulance Service. Almost every task I complete at London Ambulance Service isdocumented, with strict data protection policies in place.

Hca (Mental Health)

London, United Kingdom

My role at Avesbury House was to support service users with day to day activities outlined intheir personal care plan, as well as encourage the service users to participate in social activities. This often meant working with the occupational health team to take the services users togardening groups, local community centers and at times helping organize service music sessions. At times this would also mean attending viewings for prospective housing options, or supportedliving arrangements. I was also required to monitor physical vital signs which would bedocumented in the patients care plan, and report any concerns to the Registered Mental HealthNurses. I was assigned 5 service users whom I would partake with in one to one discussionsessions to ensure their concerns were heard, this also helped to build a trusting relationshipwith the service users to enable more effective recovery. I would encourage patients to focus ontheir future goals and ambitions to help keep them focused on recovery, examples of this wouldbe discussing further education options, volunteering opportunities, aiding the service users fill inapplications where required and sometimes attending college sessions. I attended regularmeetings the MDT to discuss the progress made by service users, convey any issues raised by theservice users themselves and look for improvements that could be made within our services. Therole also meant escorting patients where required by law based on their index offence, beingvigilantly mindful to the safety of the service users as well as myself, other staff and the public bycompleting a section 17 leave form risk assessment before every trip.

Here I was required to oversee day to day operations of the hotel, motivate and train the team todeliver brand standards and deal with customer complaints (face to face, email, telephone andsocial media). This also meant I would oversee roster completion, ensure the hotel appearancewas maintained to the highest standard, rotate food stock and ensure compliance with healthand safety. A large part of my role involved completing the relevant day to day banking tasks, checking the reception finance documentation to ensure that it is compliant with Whitbreadfinance procedures and data protection. I would also undertake hotel inspections alongside theOperations Manager, complete one to one meetings with team members regarding best practicewithin their role and run investigations where necessary for disciplinary procedures.
