The activities of RG Hagland Shipbrokers include domestic and international business around the clock with shipowners and charterers worldwide. We are involved in spot and time-chartering, sale and purchase, and new building contracts within our markets.

Involved in the portfolio management of funds invested in the international maritime industries. Pareto Alternative Investments AS ("PAI"​) manages a broad range of direct investments within real estate, shipping/offshore and credit. During my tenure the company managed a total of NOK 12bn of equity, predominantly on behalf of institutional investors. PAI is licensed by the Norwegian FSA as a manager of alternative investment funds.

Board positions in companies where funds managed by Pareto Alternative Investments had a leading owner position. Such board positions included the shipowners Asian Offshore I AS, Asian Offshore III AS, Far East Offshore AS, Vestland Seismic AS, Carlisle Subsea AS, Northsea PSV AS and 3B Offshore AS.

The position entailed corporate management responsibility for multiple ship-owning entities within both shipping and offshore. Gained significant experience through the offshore downturn which followed the 2014-16 oil crisis, at which time I was the general manager for five SPV's with a combined fleet of 15 AHTS/PSV vessels operating in West Africa and South-East Asia. During this period I was involved in corporate restructurings, recapitalisations, debt restructurings, defaulting charterers, vessel arrests and asset sales. It was humbling, educational and at times exhaustive - never boring. In 2015 I was offered participation in Pareto Securities' partnership program.

During my time at OBOS I was employed as a management consultant advising the boards of 19 housing cooperatives with +3,000 apartments in the Oslo area. From 2012 I was engaged as a project coordinator and helped facilitate OBOS' multiple mergers with smaller building societies in other areas of Norway.
