Hal Brown is the founder and owner of Panther City Media Group, L.P., the parent company of Fort Worth Magazine, Fort Worth, Inc. magazine, and Fort Worth Home magazine.Before buying out his partner’s interest in The City’s Magazine in 2005, Hal spent more than 11 years as a founding partner of Magnolia Media Group (MMG), the once parent company of Fort Worth Magazine. While with MMG, Hal served as chief operating officer and publisher of the national multi-title magazine publishing company. Hal launched and published other magazines at MMG, including Bass Pro Shops: Outdoor World; Michaels: Arts and Crafts; Pet Life, Signature Kitchens and Baths, and Signature Pools and Spas, to name a few. Hal has a true passion for Fort Worth. He believes he is responsible for using his personal and professional resources to give back to Greater Fort Worth. Fort Worth Magazine returns to the community and supports causes important to Hal and his magazine’s readers. Fort Worth Magazine is the media sponsor to over 120 non-profit fundraising events for over 30 different 501c3 non-profits, ranging from the American Heart Association to a Wish with Wings.A native Fort Worthian, Hal graduated from Arlington Heights High School and attended TCU, playing football as a four-year player and three-year letterman. As a strong safety and special teams standout, he helped TCU make it to the 1984 Bluebonnet Bowl, the school’s first bowl game in 19 years. While at TCU, Hal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and advertising.Hal sits on the board of directors of numerous organizations and serves on many non-profit committees. He is the former chairman of the board of advisors for TCU’s Bob Schieffer College of Communication, president and member of the A.J. and Jessie Duncan Foundation, and a TCU Lettermen’s Association board member.
