OGI provides software consulting services and personal computer education, training and support.

My current position culminates many years effort to bring modern software development techniques to the small aerospace company that I joined in 1980, Simmonds Precision Products Inc. In 1991 Simmonds was purchased by Goodrich from Hercules Aerospace.Over the years I have developed embedded fuel gauging and diagnostic software for the RC-135, Boeing 747, Boeing 757, Boeing 767 and Boeing 737 aircraft. I have held software design and verification lead roles for multiple products including the Boeing 757/767 fuel gauging system.I shared the development lead for the COSSI HUMS system with Mark Chaffee and worked with the team to change the business thinking from focusing on a single product to a product line focus. What makes the HUMS product line unique is the patented architecture and the data driven techniques used to customize a generic product for a specific aircraft. I am proud to be one of the four software engineers that developed the patents for the architecture.

At 3M I provided installation support and custom software for owners of the 3M/Linolex Word/Data processing machine. I traveled the US and Canada to represent 3M at a variety of marketing events and to meet with customers.I also worked on the operating system development for a combination fax and printer product.I became an employee of 3M with the acquisition of Linolex Systems in Bedford MA where I had been one of the first employees.At Linolex I put my diagnostic and device driver experience from Wang Laboratories to work. I developed word processing applications including document assembly and printing techniques. I developed floppy disk formatting routines and device drivers. I also developed printer device drivers for a variety of daisy wheel printers.I also developed portions of the Linolex DEGEN 5 data processing development software including the sort and merge functions as well as development of the configuration tool that customized DEGEN 5 for the specific customer application.

I started in the product quality organization but within 3 months Dr. An Wang noticed that I was correcting problems with the final test diagnostics during my lunch hour and assigned me to work in the research department developing hardware diagnostics on new products. After my transfer to R&D, I developed memory and processor diagnostics for the Wang 600, 700, 2200 computers and the Wang 1200 word processor.

I worked on the production assembly line for speakers and amplifiers.

I worked in the lawn and garden department during the middle of the day between my morning and evening time slots at the radio station.

As the station engineer I was responsible for equipment maintenance and bringing the station on line in the morning. I also had a daily on-air time slot where I selected the music and introduced the artists.

This position involved calibration of the tools and fixtures used on the production line.
