Manage the City of Greenville Solid Waste Division which includes the collection of garbage, yard waste, recycling and bulk service collection. Plans, directs and organizes activities of Solid Waste personnel. Manages Solid Waste and Recycling contracts for landfill disposal and recycling. Oversees and develops the divisions annual budget to include monitoring expenditures, authorization purchases, and providing budgetary recommendations to City Staff. Evaluates and pursues federal and state grant funding to finance Solid Waste Programs. Serves as City Liaison for Department of Health and Environmental Control as well as other regulatory agencies as needed. Implements policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Work with other City Departments on special projects such as event planning and public events.

As Solid Waste Manager, have overall responsibility for planning and directing solid waste operations which includes refuse collection and disposal, recycling collection, roll off collection, front end business collection, as well as other related activities for Johnson City and Washington County. Prepare annual budget for the department to include personnel, capital improvements, regional solid waste collections and recycling. Oversee billing, communication with the public, safety, hiring, and work with other city departments on a daily basis and as needed on issues related to solid waste management.

Responsible for day to day operation of three separate divisions: curbside waste collection, commercial business collection, and convenience center operation. The department consist of 58 employees and budget in excess of 5 million dollars. Duties included preparing and implementing annual budgets, work cross functionally with sales, fleet services, and landfill staffs. Research new waste management technology to operate division more productively and efficiently. Duties also included hiring and disciplinary actions as well as all safety training and accident reviews.

Manager of operation consisting of approximately 17 waste collection vehicles. Daily duties included interaction with sales staff on rate setting, customer service and operational issues. Additional duties were P&L responsibility, safety, and budgeting.

Responsible for State of South and North Carolina for medical waste collection and disposal. Duties included P&L responsibility, routing, sales and educational training for all employees and large volume customers.

Managed 85 employees and fleet of 65 vehicles. Daily operations included curbside collection, commercial collection, and bio-medical collection.
