My construction management career began as an assistant superintendent. I was promoted to superintendent, project manager, and now Vice President of Construction for Sands Building Group. I hold much value in the five years I spent working hands on in the field starting out as a hard working laborer and learning many tradesman's skills before attending Clemson University. I graduated Clemson University with a bachelors degree in Construction Science Management and minored in Business Management. Upon graduation I went to work for Dargan Construction as an assistant superintendent. I quickly learned that my education in construction management had just begun. I had a great mentor that not only taught me the finer points of the means and methods of construction but even more importantly how to manage and organize a large commercial project as well as the importance of gaining the respect of the crews and subcontractors. This only comes by exemplifying hard work and dedication. I worked for Dargan Construction for the next 19 years as superintendent and then project manager. I have been involved in managing a wide variety of commercial projects including high rise condominiums, hotels, schools, large sports centers, and the one I take great pride in, my church, which was challenging in many aspects with a tremendous amount of construction detail and components. I am currently managing the construction company side of Sands Building Group. Sands is a rapidly growing multi family construction company as well as a development company. We are seeking to expand our construction management team with needs to hire superintendents, project managers, as well as assistants that are eager to learn and grow.
