I've been following my passions and helping out wherever and however I can, generally in the areas of bicycle advocacy or the arts, particularly the SF Bay Area live music scene. I've done Valet Bicycle Parking as a volunteer, Site Supervisor, and a Program Coordinator with clients including (but not limited to) Walk and BikeAlameda, East Bay Bicycle Coalition, and SF Earth Day. I spent 4 days at WestFest (40th Anniversary of Woodstock), and I'm a regular at Two Day Town and JoyFest where past jobs have included setup, stagehand, front gate, security, merchandise sales, teardown, and cleanup. I've helped out doing setup, stagehand, and other tasks at the SF Green Festival and the SOMArts Gallery. I handle the membership data entry for Walk and BikeAlameda and have done database work for The East Bay Bicycle Coalition and the Dimond Improvement Assn. in the past. I handle the IT work and general handyman work at my apartment building and do the same independently around the East Bay. I'm the webmaster for local Jazz Guitarist, Mark Holzinger, and I've done other website work elsewhere including the East Bay Bicycle Coalition and Mensa.

Ran the 2011 Valet (attended) Bike Parking program working out details with event promoters, lining up and supervising volunteers, and post event invoicing. I also make sure our equipment and supplies are up to date and working properly. BikeAlameda discontinued the VBP program after 2011 but I still do this job as a independent. Also handled bulk transfer of apple concentrate and tung oil from conventional freighters to trucks, and traveled to various Northern California ports where I pumped motor oil for ships' engines aboard from 55 gallon drums.USCG designated "Person in Charge" during all pump jobs, responsible for the training and supervision of longshore crews in Coast Guard-approved bulk oil transfer methods including setup, take down, and the safe, enviromentally friendly completion of .the operation. Present at all pump jobs, from start to finish, some lasting over 24 hoursIn summary, I couln't think of a better place to start out in this business. Not only because of the quality of the people who trained me, but also the variety of equipment I gained experience with and the different kinds of operations I was involved with. C&L Trucking had it all until Ralph With, the owner, retired in 1983. It was a real priveledge to work there.

Only person qualified to operate all of the equipment we used.
