Responsible for the publishing operations of 15 research journals in History and other social sciences. I worked side by side with in-house marketing and production teams, as well as external PhD experts, to develop high-quality publications with strong editorial standards, and to ensure their broad dissemination throughout the academic community. Traveled widely to represent CUP at academic conferences and publishing workshops, making presentations to publishing partners and exploring opportunities for new business.

Project managed the launch of two new research journals - performed market analysis to understand the potential subscriber base, created pricing/packaging models, and communicated progress to key internal stakeholders. Conducted in-depth user surveys to gain a better understanding of customers.

Played an integral role in the launch of AAAS’ first Open Access journal, Science Advances, as part of a small core team focused solely on the journal, collaborating across the organization. Created custom editorial reports to track various aspects of the journal’s performance, as well as analytics reports to monitor the journal’s digital presence. Responsible for implementing and administering e-commerce system, tracking revenue, and communicating with authors and librarians about the journal.

Wrote and edited press releases, articles, newsletters, keynote speeches, blog posts, and other communications for BnBFinder.com, a digital marketing agency and search tool for bed & breakfasts and independent hotels. Managed all social media accounts in terms of both strategy and implementation.

Conducted competitive analysis and analytics reporting for ePals, a global learning community under the Cricket brand. Responsible for creating infographic dashboards tracking key performance indicators and relevant data trends, as well as competitive intelligence summaries. Worked closely with specialists in social media, email marketing, e-commerce, and search engine optimization. Helped launch an online marketplace for teaching resources. Pre-launch duties included: product development, market research, technical and financial research, and discovery of and outreach to prospective users. Post-launch duties included: production of weekly analytics dashboards and competitive analysis summaries, product management, and online usability testing.

2010-12 (summers) - worked closely with a professor and graduate students on several projects relating to the political process of nominating Supreme Court justices. Compiled and organized data from various online databases and print materials, and helped design classification systems for analyzing the data. The research can roughly be divided into two areas: interest group involvement in the nomination process, and presidential statements regarding the Court in general as well as specific nominees.
