CurrentI manage the physical plant aspects of 12 school system properties (9 schools, 3 support buildings) with 1.25 million square feet and the operation / maintenance of a transportation department that transports over 2500 students each day with 37 school buses. The department has 1 assistant manager, 1 administrative assistant, 9 skilled staff, 3 laborers, 35 bus drivers and 10 bus monitors. My position is responsible for purchasing, contract negotiation, vendor supervision and general management of the maintenance and transportation department as well as the oversight of a 55 employee contracted janitorial service. I am also the school systems construction project manager. We finished the construction of an 11 million dollar athletic arena at Cleveland High School and a 16 million dollar elementary school under my tenure. Presently we are renovating a 48,000 square foot bank building to serve as office space for the school system.
