Tutored, chaperoned, mentored, and advised high school students from low-income households and/or on track to becoming first-generation college students. Worked with a team of fellow RAs to ensure the smooth operation of program activities and events. Served the social, emotional, and physical needs of students during overnight trips, monthly on-site events, and the summer program. In 2024, acted as Head Resident Advisor, taking on the additional responsibilities of supervising other RAs, leading individual and group sessions, acting as liason between program staff and RAs, and various other duties.

Worked directly with ~40 program participants to ensure the development of professional skills and career readiness. Served as a coach to a small group of participants, organized community building events, and maintained readiness to meet the needs of all program participants and staff. Pursued special projects within the Year Up Marketing Operations team in areas such as enrollment and alumni with a focus on social media, engagement campaigns, reporting, and website enhancement.

Participated in professional development opportunities with other FAO Schwarz Fellows, assisted in the recruitment of applicants for the FAO Schwarz Fellowship, and collaborated in the planning of spring and fall Fellowship retreats.

Worked with colleagues to ensure the transportation of mail from USPS, FedEx, UPS, and DHL to students and employees. Maintained confidentiality of mail, provided customer service, handled cash transactions, and utilized strategic planning to serve the UVA Wise campus.

Performed transcription of confidential research for a UVA Wise sociology professor and completed other duties as assigned. Assisted with registering students to vote during the fall of 2020 and collaborated with another student intern to design and develop newsletters for the Resiliency Team for the Southwest Virginia Medical Reserve Corps. Performed other duties as requested.
