At this remote clerkship, I worked directly under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Christos Vasakiris at his private practice in Lindenhurst, NY. Dr. Vasakiris is a American Chiropractic Academy of Neurology diplomate and has over 35 years of clinical experience. At the office we utilized diversified adjusting, Flexion-Distraction technique, Graston Technique, therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, IFC, Russian stimulation), athletic taping, manual soft tissue, and rehabilitative exercises to effectively treat and manage various musculoskeletal complaints. The clerkship helped me to gain real-word experience and clinical knowledge on taking a focused patient history, performing a targeted physical exam, diagnosing conditions, effectively communicating and educating patients, and incorporating inter-professional collaboration.
