I have always been artistic, especially when it came to matching colors and using them to compliment one another, which led into my passion for cars. My brother was always working on cars, so I have been around them all my life. I would always sit out there and watch him work on them, ask him questions, but what always caught my eye was the body of the car. In 2016, I decided to pursue a career in auto body.I attended Milwaukee Area Technical College, in 2018, to get my Technical Diploma in the Automotive Collision Repair and Finishing program. I hope to gain a position as a paint technician in the auto body field, but I am not opposed to learning more on body or even estimating. I believe I am a good fit for this field because I am patient, focused, and hard-working. Not only that, but I am also detail oriented while still able to look at the big picture; and independent who can still work with others. Over the summer of 2018 I worked at an auto body shop doing mostly prep work, but slowly I began to prime, edge, and paint car parts. Also, while I worked there, I helped with detailing cars. Doing that type of work made it enjoyable and I looked forward to each day.In the Spring of 2018 we metal finished a panel, learning the fundamentals of body work and painting. Next, we worked on fenders using those same techniques to refine our skills more, and we also did a small plastic repair project. I also took a welding class and a basic fundamentals of automotive course. For the Fall of 2018 Semester, we are working on actual customer cars, as well as taking a front-end alignment and electrical class, learning the basics. Just like when I worked at the body shop, I enjoy coming to class and seeing what each day brings.
