About Haley Baron

I have focused my career on building a more sustainable and just food system for all. Currently, I am the Director of Development at Mad Agriculture, a non-profit that is catalyzing the regenerative revolution in agriculture, where I ensure the organization has the funds necessary to increase impact. Previously, I worked at the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) as the Partnership and Development Director.Over the last 15 years, I have worked across the food system - including food access programming, food sourcing, nutrition and cooking education, healthy recipe testing, organic farming, local food retailing, and food systems consulting. I completed a Master's Degree in Food Studies from New York University (NYU) with a focus on diverse models of food production, distribution, and access that help to make our food system more sustainable economically, socially, and environmentally. For my thesis, I conducted a national study of the organic supply chain and published two articles on the topic (links below).I have a B.A in Sociology and Spanish from Wesleyan University and a graduate certificate in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems from Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition. In my free time, I can be found traipsing around local farms and farmers markets, making pottery, exploring diverse cuisines, and walking on ocean beach.
