Haley Chartres phone numbers
Haley Chartres: someone who insists on making work meaningful, creative and never, ever boring. The same principles apply in playtime too. But alas, that’s enough third-person commentary! My core discipline is strategic communication, an umbrella term for branding, communication, marketing, public relations and more. I specialise in problem-solving, word smithing and adding just the right amount of polish – at the right time, with the right tactics, with the right people. But that all sounds a tad buzz-wordy to me. Why? Because over the course of my career, which has been geographically widespread and taken me face-to-face with some of the most powerful and powerless people, I’ve learnt that strategic communication has the capacity to transform. Communities, business, politics – lives. It’s much more than just polish.I have ticked the boxes of traditional education – two university degrees in Business and Journalism, and plenty of post-graduate education too. But my formula for success is highly dependant upon fresh research, intuition, networking and tenacity. Good communicators always seek opportunities to learn. So what have I learnt about myself? I insist on working with people who have strong business ethics and an inherent drive to improve the world. I especially value working with senior executives and decision makers with a desire to do ‘good’ – because there’s nothing more rewarding than helping them to amplify and deepen their impact. So let’s start a conversation. I am Co-Founder and Director of H^CK - a collective of people who consult for our bread and butter, while building digital products that might just change the world. Marketing And Communications ManagerSt Vincent De Paul Society Victoria Oct 2015 - Jun 2019Melbourne, AustraliaThe St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria (Vinnies) is part of a globally respected charity, which is dedicated to building compassionate communities. It has the largest reach of any charity in regional and metropolitan areas of the country, with over 12,000 volunteers in Victoria and 60,000 in Australia. These generous people help locals experiencing poverty, homelessness and disadvantage, face to face. Vinnies is a brand that people know and love – and as Marketing and Communications Manager, it was my job to amplify its impact, internally and externally. This role was multifaceted and hands-on. My time was spread across a variety of disciplines and projects, and I led a team of four talented digital marketing, public relations, marketing, and graphic design specialists to get the job done.I worked hard to improve and streamline internal communications, and support the Victorian and national executive teams with personal branding, speech writing, public relations, issues management, change management and corporate engagement. I was also a media spokesperson and facilitated panel discussions. I sharpened the charity’s branding and communications in market, and cultivated a culture of high quality story-telling as an essential ingredient in owned, earned and paid communication. The result? A clearer brand narrative for Vinnies, which amplifies the impact of our volunteers and the needs of people we assist. One of the flagship projects I helped to manage, from strategy to implementation, was the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout events in Melbourne, Geelong and nationally. This is a powerful fundraising, advocacy and experiential campaign, which facilitates an invaluable meeting of minds with business and community leaders. Chief Communications OfficerHealth& Sep 2014 - Oct 2015Melbourne, AustraliaHealth& has brought together a multidisciplinary team of medical, creative and digital minds to revolutionise the delivery of Australian health education resources and personal health information online. I was employed in an executive role as Chief Communications Officer to support Health& in its initial start-up chapter, when the company employed 80+ people and was backed by a group of Australia’s most respected medical professors. During this time, I was responsible for coordinating all streams of branding, communication, marketing, advertising and public relations activity in Australia and internationally. This included managing an internal team and support agencies. This role was highly educational and provided exposure to the full breadth of start-up culture. I was entrusted with a great deal of responsibility – both in my core disciplines and senior management – and had an opportunity to assist with building a company from the ground-up. Key achievements included re-branding and re-focusing the company’s marketing strategy; writing the master business plan; managing the successful market launch of a multi million-dollar website; managing international investor relations and marketing activities in the United Arab Emirates; and coordinating event activations at several medical conferences, as a platinum sponsor.
