Every time a commercial would come on T.V. that would catch my eye, I'd always say to myself (and still do for that matter), 'wow that was good marketing - they have a good team'. Especially, Jack- N - the - box. That 'mini sirloin burger' jingle will stay with me until I die. At that time, little did I know that future me would be in that marketing field that I always passively thought of.Fast forward --- I'm a new mom enjoying every second, but I had no idea. No idea what I wanted, or who I was outside of being a wife and mother. I know some can relate to that, if not during parenthood, during college, sitting at your desk day after day, or honestly at any point in your life. I discovered the world of blogging. Yes, blogging. I got super excited, anxious, and impatient. So. I dove in. BUT - I jumped into some crowded, boring for me, waters. **Drum Roll** the mommy blog. Now don't get me wrong. I absolutely love mom blogs and there are some wonderful ladies out there who just rock it. That being said, I got bored. The passion wasn't there. Fast forward some more (is this like a VHS tape?) -- I found myself doing some volunteer work for a local commitee in my town. We were planning an 'all class reunion' and I ended up handling the social media side of things. Long story short - I loved it. Add some research, more research, sprinkle in some more research -- every second of my spare time for a year was spent researching. My netflix bingers got put aside. I wanted to know the ins and outs of marketing, social media, starting a business, entrepreneurs, websites, clients, networking, business, business, business. And guess what.It paid off. I now run my own business from home as a social media strategist. I help businesses, entrepreneurs, and start-ups who want to build their online presence, but they don't know where to start, or they have started and aren't utilizing digital marketing to it's full potential.My story isn't over. It's just beginning.
