I have a passion for working in the psychology field. Particularly, working with children has always been what I want to do. This is especially true in low income communities, where lack of care for children is apparent. As a first generation college graduate who grew up in a low income community, I know have seen the struggles for both the parents and their children. Being a graduate who studied psychology allowed me to better understand how vulnerable children are to their environments, and how focus should be placed on helping them. Therefore, working in a child care setting, or as a research assistant in a lab will give me more insight on what issues are needed to be fixed for the benefit of the children.While at UCLA, I took part in a research lab course where I worked with other peers to conduct an experiment to look at how eating habits affected happiness. Here I learned how to organize data, and work together with others to compile a concise presentation to showcase findings we worked hard to achieve. I am also currently a part-time sales associate, where I help in assisting and communicating with customers to ensure they are finding what they need. These experiences give me the skills to complete tasks by deadlines, making sure they are done to show the best outcomes possible.Specialties: organizational skills, time management, planning
