While I was an intern at the Boys and Girls Club I took on many different roles. Due to the fact that everyday looked different it allowed me to be able to be flexible and adapt quickly to different positions I was thrown in to. During my internship I was in charge of organizing and scheduling a month long program where I taught the members basic American Sign Language, which I have a basic knowledge of because of the classes I took at Colorado State University.

At the City of Longmont Day Camp I worked with children ages 5-15 leading them through daily activities including artistic crafts, physical activities, and trips to various areas around town. Three days a week I worked individually with a child with special needs, working on incorporating them with other children at the camp. This job taught me many skills including being able to adapt to my surroundings and conflict resolution between the campers and co-workers. It also helped me understand the importance of working as a team and effective communication skills. Organization and attention to detail was also a key part of this job because I was in charge of 15 children at one time.

Promoting and selling this product taught me great people skills. Being able to grab peoples attention and give them a quick pitch on why our product is worth buying allowed me to think on my feet and adapt to the different demographics of people I was trying to sell to. The people I was selling to would associate my face to the company so I was always representing myself in a professional manner. In this role I was also in charge of handling large amounts of money at a time which allowed me to demonstrate my reliability.

As the Recruitment Chair for the Colorado Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi I worked closely with our Vice President of Membership planning and executing the entire recruitment process. This included teaching our members how to have effective conversations and build relationships in a short amount of time. This role improved my organizational skills and taught me how to excel in a leadership position because we were in charge of training 200 women.

As a waitress for a Country Club I understood the importance of professionalism and team work. The Club was large so we had different rooms to serve including out door areas and the downstairs bar. This rolled allowed me to work on my people skills and my communications skills. Customer service was key in this roll so being able to handle all complaints and needs of our members allowed me to be flexible and quick on my feet. I handled all members concerns with compassion and understanding.
