As a Graduate Assistant softball coach, I have a lot of different responsibilities. Some include coaching the infielders and hitters, running study hall, assisting my head coach with office duties and aiding with field maintenance. On a daily basis, I help create practice plans and work in the office helping prepare for the upcoming weeks whether that be with recruiting document, scouting reports or just getting ahead of weekly work. As a GA, I also work within contest management for other sports within the university. I am in charge of making sure the contests run smoothly, the referee's are all set up and that the student workers know their roles and can be successful. The ultimate goal as a contest manager is to make sure each contest can run smoothly with no interuptions.

During my time as a softball instructor, I gave private individual and group lessons to athletes ranging in different age groups and talent levels. I gave hitting, fielding and catching lessons to athletes of all age groups. I worked on the mechanics behind athletes swings and fundamentals for each athletes individual position. In my time as a private instructor, I learned that each athlete moves in different ways and their approach to the game is vastly different. It was my job to understand how I could better each athlete and work within their skill set to improve and be the best version of themselves.
