I am a recent Carleton University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. It is my goal to put my degree to use by starting my career in writing.I have always had an interest in reading and writing but my schooling at Carleton helped me perfect different skills relating to the subject. I believe I can write clear and concisely. I like turning research into a essays that flow nicely. I enjoy professional writing, which is writing for different professional genres, and have taken a few classes on the subject.I also have almost six years of experience in different retail jobs that have helped greatly with my communication skills. I am able to communicate with customers in both French and English. I have experience working as a cashier and cut fruit clerk, where I worked on a team to get work done efficiently. I am currently a cashier and supervisor. I oversee the front end department when managers are not present and perform audits and cash pickups.I believe that my degree in English Literature, as well as my retail experience, will be a great help to my dreams of being a writer.
