I am a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Psychology Minor. I utilized my time in college by getting involved in my department by becoming a tutor for the research related courses and assisting students in completing their senior thesis research projects. I also took a variety of courses in Psychology because I enjoy those topics and feel I may pursue a career and further education in that area in the future. I have spent my time since graduation working towards a management position in the retail job I had through college and have obtained that. Now I plan to spend my extra time with agencies in my community and surrounding areas to gain more experience working with children, victims, individuals reentering society, and/or other groups requiring assistance with life skills. I plan to use this extra experience to acquire a job in Human Services within the next year. I did an internship with the Y.O.U.T.H. Program, Inc, supervising and working with children completing community service. This experience was very enjoyable because communicating with these children while they discovered hobbies they loved and working through other issues was very fulfilling. I am interested in finding a position that allows me to continue working in this area, For my senior research project, I was interested in evaluating the resources given to inmates getting released to reenter society. I interviewed inmates in a jail and sent surveys to many other individuals. The experience and knowledge I gained through my research was very interesting. I am also interesting in finding a position in this area. It would allow me to apply my knowledge and have a impact on society which is my goal in my career.
