Conduct research and consult with the Director, staff, partners, and other appropriate stakeholders in the design and development of new curriculum.• Develop and maintain research database that may be utilized to develop and review curriculum.• Use evaluations and data to make recommendations for how to improve and edit curricula on an annual basis.• Assist Fellows’ social justice work on their campuses or in their communities, and work with them to plan and execute sustainable, community-driven projects. • Regularly assess emerging needs in department and work to build new initiatives or evaluate current programs. • Work closely with and support the Director of YP4 in her role as the principal voice of Young People For, provide both material/content as well as thought partnership.• Serve as the external face of the Fellowship department with Fellows and Alumni.• Support efforts to strengthen relationships with key local, state, and national partnerships/alliances to influence programming to further the mission and vision of Young People For.
Midwest Regional Coordinator/Intern Coordinator
• Organize, recruit, and train thousands of students at state, regional, and national reproductive justice conferences yearly on issues, policies, and skills.• Create, manage, and implement comprehensive on-line and in-person campaigns empowering young people to make change.• Plan yearly state level lobby days with 110 young activists in order to develop relationships with state legislators.• Develop relationships and collaborate with state organizational partners for events and actions.• Mentor over 50 young people about their political activism and careers, and provide resources for personal and professional growth.• Represent URGE at external regional and national conferences, such as Take Root and MBLGTACC.• Initiated first Abortion Positive billboard campaign in Wichita, KS for the Summer of Mercy 25th anniversary and helped lead the first Abortion Positive Campus tour on 6 college campuses in 3 red states.• Manage the intern program including the hiring process, work plan, deadline development, and evaluation.
