I am a current Occupational Therapy student at Jacksonville University, and will graduate with my doctorate in May 2024. I graduated from the University of Florida in May 2020, during the height of the pandemic, and received my Bachelor of Science in Health Education. I have had multiple internships over the years, each of them educating me about the world around me and my place in it. My internships with Brooks Rehabilitation and Eta Sigma Gamma have given me insight into healthcare on micro and macro levels. Brooks opened my eyes regarding patient health and interaction, HIPAA laws, and health education and promotion skills in a personal setting. Eta Sigma Gamma taught me the impact one person can have on a nationwide level, and how proper health education can and should be available to all. Surviving many medical maladies and mishaps has given me ample experience in understanding the healthcare system through a patient's eyes. These skills and experiences combined give me the best possible perspective a healthcare professional could have - a hopeful one. My work with Publix has taught me invaluable communication skills, proper money management techniques, product promotion, and traits of an efficient team member. My ultimate goal is to be of service to others through Occupational Therapy, utilizing health education as a means of effective communication. I want to use my skills and passions to help my community understand how to best take care of itself, one person at a time.
