I obtained my M.S. in Health Sciences from Indiana State University, and very excited to continue my career. My passion for healthcare, poverty alleviation, and social work has grown rapidly during my several years in college. Nonprofit organizations have always been close to my heart, and I would love nothing more than to be given an opportunity to make a difference in this world through my integrity, compassion, and work ethic.I am especially interested in working with orphaned children and incarcerated individuals within the healthcare capacity, as well as behavioral health with individuals that have disabilities.

I have been on the IT floor working with the same team each year. However, the projects and my responsibilities have gotten more intense with each summer rotation. I have become more in touch with healthcare informatics and am learning how marketable this knowledge can be. This summer, I am working on a variety of projects, the most interesting of which is implementing a speech recognition device into the hospitals radiology departments for improved efficiency among doctors. I got to help firsthand with field testing and developing the testing scripts. Additionally, I take part in team meetings, conference calls, and intern lunch and learns which educate me on the inner workings of a large corporation. While I do not plan on staying within the IT field after my internship, what I am learning and have already learned here is priceless. Kindred Healthcare has been a blessing for me as a student, but also financially and professionally as well.
