About Haley Sengsavanh

Hello! I'm a Hong Kong-Laosian fashion journalist based in Toronto. I specialize in fashion, culture, and community stories that amplify the voices of underrepresented groups. I am fluent in English and Cantonese, and am passionate about using storytelling to explore the intersection of fashion and race, and issues impacting the Asian diaspora. My work has been published in print and online with magazines across four continents: North America, South America, Asia, and Europe. I have also worked backstage at, covered, and was a front row guest at New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Fashion Art Toronto, Vancouver Fashion Week and more. I will receive my Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a double minor in Politics and Fashion Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University in June 2025.
