Working as a barista taught me many skills. I had the opportunity to serve customers, take orders, handle money transactions, and work closely with team members. As a waitress, I expanded my people skills and learned how to deal with people. In addition, I learned how to handle pressure and difficult situations with customers. Taking orders, working the till, serving, cleaning, opening, and closing were all parts of my job.

Working as a full-time nanny of two 9-year-olds grew my patience and people skills. With one of the children being non-verbal and autistic, I had to learn and overcome a lot of obstacles. Being able to adapt day to day is a skill that is valuable in life.

Working on the maintenance team at the Port of Morrow taught me to push through challenging times. Due to COVID-19, I had to take on different jobs and be flexible. It taught me to make the best of situations and always stay positive.
