My responsibilities include being both an educator and encourager to a classroom of 13-18 five-year-olds. I organize a few of their school projects and instruct them in pre-assigned lesson plans. I watch over these same kids during recess and after-school care, coming up with weekly activities to keep their minds engaged in learning.

I started this internship as an Office Intern with the Senate Page Office, and am finishing the final weeks as a Legislative Intern. This has involved me in both the political and public relation industries.Both assignments have been mind-blowing, in both my professional and personal work ethic. While with the Page Office, I was in charge of printing off name badges, to scheduling group days by reserving rooms and speakers. I answered phones and emails, took care of certificates, school excuse letters, and attendance. In the legislative offices, I organize bill packets, mail out multiple letters, and ensure my senators have all the necessary materials throughout the day.All these duties and more have been done with a smile on my face because that's the attitude I believe one needs around the workplace. I take initiative to help other people, to meet all of my deadlines, and execute my job in a manner of the utmost precision. This internship has certainly succeeded in fine-tuning these skills, as well as others.

I was in charge of a three-yr-old and one-yr-old every weekday. I took care of drop-off and pick-up from preschool, lunch, naps, diapers, mild housekeeping, taking care of their pets, and ensuring the children had a fun, safe environment to play in. My favorite part of this was coming up with new, daily activities to engage them in, especially the one-yr-old, as I was helping him to develop his speech.

My duties included the supervision and interaction with kids from ages 2-12. I helped elementary kids with their homework, organized fun holiday activities for all the classes, established discipline where needed, and engaged with both the children and their parents. Nothing was more important to me then enforcing a strong working relationship between the center and the families. I also cleaned the facility after hours a few times a week.

This internship was virtual in its setting; I was sent a manuscript electronically and edited all the chapters within two months time, grammatically and structurally. I was given the room to make strong suggestions toward the author about the consistency and syntax of his novel and it was well-received, both by him and the company.

This internship was my first experience within the editing/publishing process and I loved it! I worked through two manuscripts with local author, Rebecca Dawson, proofreading and correcting any grammatical errors found. I attending a few meetings, where I was asked for advice and insight from a reader's point of view, and vigorously met weekly deadlines, always ahead of time.

My tasks with Coldwell Banker consisted of writing and editing out the descriptions of all the listings being handled by the office. I also kept various websites updated, regarding status, prices, etc. There was also minimal office duties invovled, i.e. filing, answering phones, emailing, etc.
