Led a small team to conduct strategic communications for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Chief Knowledge Officer and NASA Academy of Program/Project & Engineering Leadership (APPEL). Activities included: :: Storytelling and CommunicationsResearched, drafted, and published blog and long-form content, case studies, presentations, and white papers geared toward the NASA technical workforce and its stakeholders. Topics included project management, engineering, science, technology, and knowledge management. :: Website Content ManagementProvided and coordinated content for appel.nasa.gov. Worked with Web editor to create optimum user experience online. :: Video and Social Media ManagementCaptured, edited, produced, and archived video from workforce training events and oversaw Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, iTunes U, and YouTube activities and properties. :: Interactive Learning Tool DevelopmentManaged the creation of first NASA iBook publication on the topic of orbital debris. Managed and led design and development for the creation of NASA’s first interactive Knowledge Map.

Core team member for the VA’s Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Program study initiated by Public Law 110-389. Responsibilities included researching, writing, and coordinating survey questions, acquiring data from other agencies, negotiating data sharing agreements, and facilitating meetings with government agencies involved in the project.

Weekly contributor to ScienceNOW, the online daily news site for Science Magazine. Responsibilities included covering primary sources, interviewing scientists and researchers, soliciting outside comments, and responding to edits and feedback. Stories averaged 500 words.

Designed and prepared lesson plans for self-designed course entitled “Selfishness and Altruism.” Identified sources and readings used in the course. Taught twice a week for seventy-five minutes. Held regular office hours and graded all writing assignments, including prewriting and four final papers.

Wrote consent forms, recruited subjects, and executed study protocols such as sample collection, participant interviews, and data submission for both outpatient and ICU studies. Certified in NIH Stroke Scale and Mini-Mental Exam testing. Studies included Insulin Resistance after Stroke Trial (IRIS), Valley Asthma and Air Quality Monitoring Study, and two Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Network (ARDSnet) studies: ALTA and Eden-Omega.
