During my tenure as Director of Learning and Education, I supported the entirety of the staff and professional development initiatives across the the 30 camps and programs that are part of the SeriousFun Children's Network, an international non-profit for children with serious medical conditions. My responsibilities included department management, program development and assessment, budget development and management, and serving on the senior leadership team of the organization, thought partner to the CEO, and staff liaison to the Board of Directors.SeriousFun Children's Network , found by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, is a global community of 30 independently managed and financed camps and programs serving children with serious illnesses and their families - always free of charge. The purposefully designed programs foster independence, resilience, and personal growth, helping children to see beyond the limits of their medical conditions and experience all that life has to offer. In 2016, the Network served more than 132,000 children and family members worldwide.

As Senior Program Manager for the Global Partnership Program and Horvitz Fellowship, I oversaw the operations of our 14 Global Partnership Programs serving children with HIV and other life-threatening illnesses in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. I supported a team of four Program Managers in implementing in-country operations, recruited, hired and placed 24 – 30 Field Consultants annually, supported our Director in strategic planning for growth and sustainability, developed new programs and partnerships, and designed and managed the Horvitz Leadership Fellowship Program.

Most importantly, I developed a relationship with each job seeker, worked to identify their goals, helped them develop accountability measures, and encouraged and motivated them throughout the process of their career search.

Three month field research assignment in the urban slum of Kibera, located in Nairobi, Kenya, where our team designed surveys, conducted primary data collection, compiled and analysed data from 44 household assessments, surveys, and observations. Additionally, we evaluated the Rotary 3H Grant project goals and progress of eight WatSan facilities, and partnered with Ashoka Fellow and social enterprise IkoToilet to identify innovations and in urban sanitation.

Three month internship based in East Jerusalem, where I investigated human rights abuses in the West Bank and worked with Palestinians and Israeli community leaders on peace-building initiatives, documented house demolitions in East Jerusalem and conducted interviews with Palestinian residents, co-wrote and submitted successful €100,000 grant application to European Union to supplement legal department, and initiated social networking campaign for the organization.
