Hi, my name is Haley O’Grady and I am currently a sophomore at ASU majoring in marketing. I am involved with the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority on campus and love doing philanthropy with them as well as sisterhood activities. I am very social and love to branch out of my comfort zone!I have had a lot of experience in many aspects of life such as work and school. This experience has allowed me to learn vital social skills and how to deal with a variety of people and customers. I also learned time management as well as organizational skills. Also, as a freshman in college, I took a computer info systems class which built my skills in excel and other computer applications. Through this class, I also became proficient in applications such as photoshop, word, and canva. Being a marketing major, I know the necessity of efficiency with computers and visual graphics when it comes to advertising. Prior to starting my college career, I was heavily involved in the NHS as I took on an officer position. This helped to shape skills as well as I was in charge of conducting meetings as well as setting up volunteer opportunities for the club.Currently, I am, as previously stated, heavily involved with my sorority. We hold philanthropy events that make doing good fun! Recently, I volunteered with Kappa at an animal shelter, which led me to start fostering animals when I can. The volunteering experiences greatly built my sense of empathy. Moreover, I currently work at Postino as a hostess. This job, like my previous retail jobs, has also allowed me to branch out and meet many different types of people. This job also allows me to multitask in ways I never have before which is another useful skill that I used to struggle with. I believe that I have a good balance between school, work, and social life, which I see to be one of the most important aspects of college.As a current marketing major, I am learning the business and advertising side of companies. I would like to get into the world of sales and marketing in the future but with a more specific focus in science. I plan on picking up a minor in biology so that I could (hopefully) have a future career in the field of pharmaceuticals. My love for medical sciences is a newfound interest, so I am hoping to be able to utilize both my skills in science and business in my future career, whatever it may be.
