Seattle Farmer’s Market & Event staff work to celebrate and sell Finnriver products at regional markets around the Seattle area. These markets present the public face of Finnriver and help us to ‘serve the land with cider,’ to make new friends for our farm and our products, to grow sales, to encourage visits to the farm, and to celebrate the local food community. The Market crew is responsible for conducting the daily operation of the market booths, including transport and stocking of product and supplies, offering public tastings, making and tracking sales, creating attractive and effective market displays and booth set up and take down. For other events, the crew works around the region at festivals, store demos and other locations to share the cider and our story.

Presented environmental education and outreach programs to schools and other groups in classrooms and outdoor settings from the Nature Vision menu of programs. Prep and clean-up of materials for presentations.Drove to presentation sites driving across King and parts of Snohomish County to reach schools and other sites registered for programs. Our main office is located in Woodinville, WA.Created a teaching resource document designed under contract with King County to provide easy access to stormwater education programs (see below).

As a director I coordinated and directed camps by providing structure and resources for four instructors and volunteers in their execution of nature awareness curriculum; and created camp groups and communicated between staff and parents. I also implemented a new feedback form for the instructors, volunteers, and myself to give and recieve feedback to each other. As an instructor I led groups of 10-15 students ages 4-12 through various nature-connection activities, utilizing Jon Young’s Coyote Mentoring techniques to teach Pacific Northwest natural history such as hazards, mammals, tracking, ecology, edible plants, and birds/birdsong. I facilitated learning with songs, skits, journaling, and storytelling.

AmeriCorps member with NLF's Urban Leaders in Training (ULT) program serving at the Tacoma Rescue MissionI worked within the ULT professional development community to discuss and put into action various methods of leadership through the lens of equity in the city; developed and implemented pre-school, elementary after-school, teen life-skill and community-group, and family programs; identified needs of students academically, emotionally, and physically; linking clients to appropriate community resources and providers; networked and partnered with other agencies working with youth in the community; supervised volunteers and interns; and coordinated with Rescue Mission staff to create a collaborative community.

At IslandWood I taught science and environmental concepts in an outdoor setting such as erosion, runoff, habitat needs, and ecosystems to 4th and 5th grade Seattle Public School Students; adapted program curriculum to be more applicable to science units taught in the classroom and edited curriculum for new NGSS science unit; taught garden curriculum and supported elementary school teachers in outdoor education; re-designed and evaluated pre- and post-assessments; designed and taught pre- and post-lessons; actively contributed in professional development communities including discussion of urban environmental education techniques, development of urban programs, using art as a teaching tool, and how to combine solutions for environmental and social problems; planned and organized two community events for local communities; planned and executed two workshops for elementary and high school students on rain gardens and runoff water systems; and wrote reports and case studies for programs. I was also a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team; attended meetings and provided support and resources.

I led group with a co- counselor to direct activities and ensure safety for all campers; engaged 20-30 children ages 6-12, facilitating the assigned schedule for on- and off-site field trips; and provided extended day care. I also led one group during a Leadership Building workshop with 5th graders.
