I serve as an instructor for the LEAD Scholars Academy. It is the only academic and co-curricular leadership program in Florida. The program is designed to take leadership skills learned inside the classroom and provide opportunities to use them and create meaningful social change.I also teach First-Year Seminars. These courses are focused on increasing self-efficacy, information fluency, and effective decision-making. This promotes retention, persistence, and graduation. The Office of Student Involvement supports student success and enhances the campus culture. Focusing on the core principles of Connect, Involve, and Impact, I supported a student population of 70K, with a focus on leadership development, community partnerships, events, and student engagement. I managed a team of over 40 on multiple campuses. The UCF Activity and Service Fee budget is over $20,000,000. I managed financial activities, talent bookings, planning, and execution of large-scale events for the University and community. When I came to UCF the student government had well-established agencies. I took this as an opportunity to maximize their potential and take them from good to great. This was done by expanding student leadership and empowerment. I managed a team that oversaw large-scale events, such as travel, homecoming, concerts, and comedy shows. I played an active role in redefining the mission, identifying student needs, and program development. I strengthened relationships on-campus and in the community. I developed a culture of intentional student learning within student engagement. I designed a student learning assessment plan that improved student aptitudes. I coached departments about institutional effectiveness for accreditation.
