Aydın Örme Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.' foundation was laid by Mr. Turgut Aydın with a small shop in Sultanhamam in early 1970. The Istanbul Sarıgazi Production Plant in Istanbul was established in 1991.The curtains and other home textile products that had been marketed in Sultanhamam for years were started to be manufactured at Aydın Örme's production plant as from 1991. Having adopted an export-oriented marketing policy, the Company grew and improved through a series of investments. In addition to the Istanbul Sarıgazi Production Plant, which manufactures voile curtains, curtain fabrics, tergal, elastic laces, jerseys and polyesther yarns, another plant was established in Akyazı/Adapazarı which is engaged in dyeing, finishing, and production of ready-to-wear clothing and embroidery-guipure. Thus, Aydın Örme became a fully-integrated company.The Company which built a 55.000 m2 production plant in Sarıgazi and an 80.000 m2 production plant in Akyazı, which amounts to 135.000 m2 in total, creating added-value for Turkey's economy, employs 1.428 individuals.With its Furnishings group covering woven and knitted products and Elastic Products group covering lace and jersey products, Aydın Örme manufactures 3.500 tons of yarn, 28.5 million m2 of voile curtain, 18 million m2 of plain and jacquared curtain, 15 million m2 of elastic lace in 15-cm band form and 3.2 million m2 of jersey as of 2006 and exports 75% of its products in general.
