Halima is a Public Health Specialist with extensive experience in public health advocacy and program management.In her current role at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat, she supports states across Nigeria by collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance political commitment and secure sustained funding for Primary Health Care (PHC) and Immunization. She leads advocacy initiatives targeted at Governors and other high-level policymakers.As a Program Manager at Chigari Foundation, she played a key role in managing a strategic advocacy project on Polio Eradication and Routine Immunization, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She worked closely with traditional leaders, who are the gatekeepers of their communities, contributing to the establishment of Emirate Council Committees on Health in 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, enhancing community engagement for immunization activities.Halima also made a significant impact at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as an Event-Based Surveillance Analyst, where she ensured rapid identification and investigation of public health threats, helping to prevent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases.She has strong stakeholder management skills that drive collaborative results and result in a good representation of the organisation she works with.
