I mastered core competencies of a child life specialist through 700+ hours of supervised application in the NICU, PICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Radiology, and Emergency Department. I collaborated with the interdisciplinary team daily through rounds, charting, and emailing. I administered procedural support, diagnosis education, psychological preparation, therapeutic activities, and medical play for every age group (infant to adolescent). For my final project, I created a developmentally appropriate resource book for teen mothers in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I also completed the Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) program by the American Heart Association which is valid through February, 2022 and am competent using Epic charting software.

I completed 485 hours working with children and teenagers who are medically fragile and have physical or developmental disabilities. I led groups of eight children with disabilities through adaptive activities at day and overnight camps. Other responsibilities included administrative duties in the main office and visiting patients in the hospital.
