Educated high school students about leadership, diplomacy, research, public speaking, negotiation, and writing using a curriculum that I modified for each class to cater to each student’s learning styles and personal needs. Conducted literature reviews and met with regional NGOs to study the impacts of climate change on rainfall reduction, fluoride infestation in the water, and related health impacts, in Karlakot, Nuapada, India. Presented the plan for the project and predicted outcomes to researchers, policymakers, and other key stakeholders at the Bharti Institute of Public Policy’s annual Indian Public Policy Network conference. Developed and executed virtual group interviews with community members to understand climate change’s impacts on their health, local economic and gender inequality, and the community’s adaptation strategies. Synthesized quantitative data supplied from literature reviews and NGO databases and qualitative data acquired through interviews to identify recurring themes about climate change effects and the government’s response. Wrote a 30-page research paper illustrating my findings and providing recommendations to local government.

Supervised a team of 10 Executive Board members through consistent communication and organization to ensure success in hosting two Model UN conferences, executing our training camp, and improving team performance. Managed a budget of over $30,000 alongside the team’s Director of Finance to fund the two conferences our team hosts and to maximize the number of delegates for whom we could subsidize travel and conference expenses.

Recruited over 20 new members to the UCSB Model UN team by tabling on campus, distributing flyers and other promotional materials, and organizing recruitment events including informational seminars regarding UCSB Model UN activities and opportunities therein.

Oversaw a team of over 20 lifeguards to support them in enforcing the facility’s rules to patrons and managing customer service challenges. Monitored the facility’s safety with regards to COVID-19 protocols and the pool’s chemical requirements, and made decisions about how to proceed if safety concerns were present.

Built a community for over 65 residents in which they felt comfortable and welcome by fostering interpersonal connections between students through careful attention to various student interests. Led communication with students to better understand the multifaceted demographics and experiences that they have in order to provide events and resources that appealed to and benefitted a multitude of attendees. Marketed events across campus and the surrounding community using various programs such as Canva to produce clear and enticing flyers and announcements to yield up to 150 attendees.
