Conducted research to understand and mitigate the critical materials and biological factors leading to osteolysis adjacent to total joint prostheses. Responsible for the retrieval and characterization of prosthetic wear debris from failed total hip and total knee replacements and conducted all aspects of experimentation and data analysis. Several papers and presentations were issued from this research.

Varied pre-heat times and temperatures in order to develop distinct microstructures and investigate the effect of microstructural factors, such as precipitate size and distribution, on the machinability of several aluminum machining alloys.Optimized preheat times & increased preheat efficiency in 7XXX series aluminum alloys through increased understanding of the dissolution process during preheat practices. This project improved the efficiency and output quality of the Davenport plant facility.Assisted in the development of a stress corrosion cracking predictive computer model for 7XXX series aluminum alloys. This allowed engineers to graphically estimate residual strength at different constant stress levels and exposure times, thereby reducing experimentation times while maintaining reliability.
