I don’t believe in failure. Over the course of my career in Strategic Operations Leadership, I’ve learned that when you’re proactive in operations, you don’t have to settle for missed deadlines and inefficient communication. Instead of waiting to react to them, when you address these “inflection points” before you hit them, you bypass any negative impact they could have had on the team and the business. As a leader, I instill this idea in my teams every day.My passions for conducting ethical business, providing compassionate leadership, and exceeding client expectations have led me to an extensive career in operations management at the senior leadership level. I’m an analytical and understanding person, so I exceed in this field because it’s results-driven and it allows me to mentor colleagues and watch them develop. Strong teams that maintain commitment and focus are more efficient and more successful, and I enjoy helping people become the best team members they can be. and exceed their own expectations.My strong background in finance, food safety, quality assurance, and distribution give me unique insight into what I do. I make safety a priority and I focus on understanding the market i work in. I’ve also found success as a leader by prioritizing the people around me. That means explaining changes to the team instead of leaving people questioning and being hands-on without micromanaging. It also means praising in public and counseling in private. I’m available for people when they need me, and by being honest and open myself, I encourage others to be the same with me. I enjoy reading and learning from leadership books, and I always save time for reading novels. My family is incredibly important to me; I’m lucky to have a wife, three wonderful children, and two grandchildren, with another on the way. I believe in giving back regularly, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Portland and Shoes That Fit are near and dear to my heart.
