On a career break while I started work on my first book about Uppingham School and the Great War. I also completed my first article for an academic publication which was published in August 2015.

Dealt with a variety of risk issues at BDO focussing on client acceptance and ID, AML and sanctions. He was the firm's Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer. Until March 2014 he also dealt with information security and data protection matters.

Responsible for running the St Albans Office. His responsibilities included management and regulatory accounting. He led the project in 2006 and 2007 to implement the Basel II requirements for the company.
